current edition of The State of Small Businesses:
A Report of the President claims that there are
an estimated 21.5 million businesses in the United
States.
The
same report also stated that 80% of all businesses
have less than nine employees.
Further,
the report stated that 6.6% of all businesses
in the U.S. have one to four employees.
There
are probably fewer than 60,000 businesses in the
U.S. with 500 or more employees.
